ESA Week: Exploring Kasapreko Company Limited
Amidst the vibrant festivities of ESA (Engineering Students’ Association) week, an illuminating field trip was orchestrated by the association. This endeavour aimed to immerse 95 aspiring engineering students in the practical application of their studies within a real world context.
The chosen destination was none other than the renowned Kasapreko Company Limited, where the intricate interplay of engineering and manufacturing unfolded.
Gathering with palpable excitement, the selected students assembled at the entrance of the engineering faculty, ready to embark on this enlightening escapade.
With a seamless transition, we boarded the awaiting bus that would transport us to our destination. Our journey was succinct, as 45 minutes later, we arrived at the premises of Kasapreko Company Limited, anticipation bubbling within us.
Welcoming us with warmth and enthusiasm, the tour leader initiated our exploration with a concise overview of the guidelines to ensure a safe and enriching experience. Our dedicated tour guide then ushered us into a room where we were treated to an informative film. This visual journey illuminated the company’s historical evolution, its present operational landscape, the workforce behind its success, and the paramount safety protocols pivotal for both employees and visitors.
Subsequently, the students were divided into groups, each accompanied by an attentive tour guide. As we ventured into the heart of the manufacturing facility, our senses were immediately captivated by the captivating process unfolding before us. Our focal point was the production of chocomalt drink, the current star of Kasapreko’s lineup. At the nucleus of this process, preforms – minuscule bottles – undergo a meticulous transformation. Subjected to heat, they morph into diverse shapes before being cooled and primed for the ensuing stages.
The spotlight then shifted to the filler station, where the precisely concocted chocomalt elixir (a fusion of CO2, water, and malt compound) cascaded into these awaiting vessels. This symphony of liquid engineering was but a prelude to the meticulous inspection that followed. Here, the level of each filled bottle was scrutinized, any aberrations promptly rectified. A testament to quality assurance.
Journeying onward, our gaze settled upon the final phases. The bottling orchestration transitioned to the packer, a station where labels found their permanent home on the glass canvases, and caps snugly crowned each vessel.
It was fascinating to witness this meticulous choreography culminate in the creation of 12-bottle bundles, harmoniously uniting form and function.
An underlying ambiance of controlled coolness enveloped the entire production process, amplifying the dedication to preserving product integrity. The orchestration concluded with the orchestrated loading of these bottled delights onto waiting trucks, each destined to disperse across a network of retailers. Engaging with fervor, numerous inquiries sprung forth,
with many seeking insights into potential internships and the National Service Scheme (NSS) opportunities within this dynamic realm. In retrospect, the field trip to Kasapreko Company Limited etched an indelible imprint on our engineering perspectives.
Beyond the machinery and processes, it illuminated the fusion of innovation, precision, and human ingenuity that propels the world of manufacturing forward. As we bid adieu to this enlightening sojourn, the students departed with enriched minds and a deeper appreciation for the intricate dance of engineering within the realm of tangible production.
